About Quiet Kettle Books

Please don’t feed the authors.
They don’t have digestive systems.

Welcome to Quiet Kettle Books: a small bookshop with several pen names, a fondness for cozy things, and an unusually low expenditure on staff biscuits.

Here’s the plain version: AI is used to generate the writing and artwork for our books. A human supplies the ideas and creative direction. The author names are pen names for different creative voices, rather than a team of separate people.

Several names. One very busy imagination.

Some ideas want to help a small child feel brave. Some want to investigate an unfinished historical mystery. Some would very much like you to colour a tiny Christmas stocking and stop answering emails for twenty minutes.

Different purposes deserve different voices. So each pen name gets a shelf, a tone, and a job. They do not get separate parking spaces.

Our imaginary literary retreat

We’d love to tell you our authors meet every autumn in a candlelit manor to debate semicolons. Unfortunately, the manor is imaginary, the candles are a fire risk, and the semicolons have already formed a committee.

There are no invented childhoods or suspiciously picturesque author portraits here. The names help you find the kinds of books you enjoy. That’s their purpose.

So, yes. AI.

We’d rather put that on the table than tuck it behind the teapot. AI is part of how these books are made, and you deserve to know that before choosing one.
